April 2024 -- The Friends of the Homer (Alaska) Public Library honored my as the 2024 Lifelong Learner. The title of my talk was "What I've Learned About Learning and the Fight to Control It."

September 2023 --  I was on a panel with poet Jane Hirshfield in Anchorage to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the UAA/APU Consortium Library. The conversation, which included  Stephanie Holthaus (Climate Action Advisor for The Nature Conservancy Alaska and founder of the Women on Climate Initiative of TNC North America)  and Marie Tozier (Alaska Native poet, Nome) was called "Ways of Knowing: Poetry, Science, and the Environment.”
