Our book represented Alaska at the National Book Festival at the Library of Congress on August 22! The program is Great Reads from Great Places, and the Alaska selection was made by the Alaska Center for the Book.

I will be at the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA) trade show in Portland, OR Sept. 26 to 28 representing our Alaska Literary Field Guide and signing copies for booksellers and librarians.
I will be presenting our field guide at Third Place Books in Seattle (Ravenna) on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Jill McCabe Johnson, a poet, contributor to the Cascadia Field Guide, and an editor, will be in conversation with me, and we will read excerpts and show examples of the book's art.

Nov. 5 , 6 p.m. at the Homer Public Library. I will be on a panel with two other short fiction writers (Rich Chiappone and Nikki Ervice) to talk about writing short fiction. My new book Let Them Tell You, will be for sale there.
Contributors to our field guide will present it at the Museum of the North in Fairbanks on Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. Thanks to Daryl Farmer (who wrote lovingly about wood bison for the book) for organizing!

I write twice-monthly book reviews for the Anchorage Daily News. These are books (not self-published) by Alaskans or with Alaska or at least northern content. Feel free to alert me to new books or send review copies! (Sorry that there is a paywall. Subscribe to newspapers and keep local journalism alive!)
